During a high school pep rally in the United States, a Virginia police officer got into “Formation” with his crowd-pleasing rendition of Beyoncé’s dance routine.

Lt. Deuntay Diggs, 31, performed at North Stafford High School’s homecoming rally in front of a group of screaming students in Stafford, Va.

The night before the pep rally, Diggs learned the entire dance routine from watching the pop star’s music video, which has been under scrutiny for reportedly being about police brutality and the Black Lives Matter movement.

“I just watched her video on YouTube over and over again, and then I memorized it, practiced it, and the next day I did it,” he told BuzzFeed in an article published on Oct. 14.

In a video posted on Twitter on the same day, Diggs appears to thrill teenagers and adults alike with his dance moves.

After 72 hours, the tweeted video received more than 78,000 retweets and 134,000 likes. The viral video left many people with positive words to say about the high-energy incident.

“The world would be a much better place, we need more cops like this as decision makers,” wrote a man named Ryan from Vancouver, B.C.

Diggs is the first openly gay deputy police officer at the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office where he has worked since 2008, according to WDAM and his personal website.

It’s also not the first time Diggs put his dance moves on display. He once showed up for a high school football game and danced for the crowd.
