'The Voice' Finally Revealed Who Came in Second Place After Winner Todd Tilghman

From Country Living

  • The Voice declared Todd Tilghman the winner of Season 18 during Tuesday night's finale but failed to reveal which of the two remaining artists, Toneisha Harris or Thunderstorm Artis, took home second place.

  • In a surprising move, The Voice revealed the Season 18 runner-up on Twitter two days after the finale.

Fans were left hanging on Tuesday night when, for the first time in the history of The Voice, the runner-up was not revealed during the season finale.

Thankfully, The Voice shared the news via Twitter two days later to finally put fans' minds at peace. And the second-place winner is...

Drumroll, please...

Toneisha Harris from Team Blake!

"Congratulations to powerhouse @toneishaharris who placed 2nd on this season of #TheVoice!" The Voice said in its tweet. That's such great news for Toneisha and all of her fans!

The rest of the top five finalists ranked as follows:

3rd place: Thunderstorm Artis (Team Nick Jonas)

4th place: CammWess (Team John Legend)

5th place: Micah Iverson (Team Kelly Clarkson)

Toneisha's second-place success is another boon to Blake, who we now know coached both of the top two contestants. He tweeted his congratulations to Todd and Toneisha after the finale aired on Tuesday night.

“YES!!! That’s what I’m talking about!!!!!!” Blake said. “CONGRATS @todd_tilghman!!! Season 18 @NBCTheVoiceWINNER! You deserve this – so proud of you! Let’s go!!!!!!!”

Blake later followed up with a congratulatory tweet to Toneisha, writing, “And also congrats to you @toneishaharris!!! That was a heck of a run!!!”

Many fans on Twitter felt Toneisha should have won over Todd.

"Toneisha may have come in second but make no mistake that her career is on its way," wrote one fan. "A voice like that deserves center stage."

"She deserved FIRST," another fan tweeted.

As The Voice well knows by now, you can't please everybody. But as one fan pointed out, many contestants who didn't win the top prize on The Voice or American Idol have gone on to have amazing careers.

Think Chris Daughtry (who placed in fourth on Season 5 of American Idol) or, hello, Jennifer Hudson (who finished seventh place on Season 3 of American Idol).

We wish Todd, Toneisha, and all of the top finalists lots of success in the future!
