Despite a delay for the live semi-finals, The Voice UK has confirmed which performer won this series' Lifeline vote.

Joining the eight other contestants is 31-year-old Doug Sure, the South Londoner whose cool vibes should stand him in good stead as the grand final beckons.

Doug, who will return to Team Will, told ITV: "I'm truly honoured to have been saved by the public and can't wait to see the others in the live semi-finals. My thanks to everyone for the support and can't wait to get stuck in!"

Announcing the postponement of this year's semi-finals and final due to the coronavirus pandemic, ITV stated last month: "We are in a developing and dynamic situation so we're complying with the guidance from Public Health England and the World Health Organisation to make sure we keep everyone as safe and secure as possible.

"We have taken the difficult decision to postpone The Voice UK semi-final and final until later this year. We will continue to monitor the situation and announce a new date for these shows, which were due on air on March 28 and April 4, in due course."

The Voice UK will return later this year on ITV.
