As the temperature starts to drop and snow starts to arrive, the winter tire debate starts pops up. Do I really need to change my tires? Is it really worth the money?

According to the Ontario Ministry of Finance, winter tires that are in good condition can shorten braking distances by as much as 25 per cent. In Quebec, for example, all drivers must use winter tires from December 15 to March 15. Failure to do so can result in fines of up to $300.

There may not be formal regulations across the country but it is certainly expected amongst many drivers. Alternatively, the high cost of these seasonal tires can make people second guess making the switch for the winter.

So what do you do? Vote in the poll below to tell us if you put winter tires on your vehicle, and leave your thoughts in the comments.
