WandaVision Spinoff Agatha and More Marvel Series Delayed at Disney+ — Plus, Agatha Gets Another Title Change
Uh-oh… has someone put a hex on Disney+’s Agatha-centered WandaVision spinoff?
The spinoff, with Kathryn Hahn reprising her WandaVision role as the witchy villainess, was originally supposed to debut later this year, but it has now been delayed until early fall 2024, timed to the Halloween season, according to The Hollywood Reporter. (A source has confirmed the news to TVLine.) For those of you who are keeping score at home, it’s also now on its third title: Agatha: Darkhold Diaries, replacing the previous title Agatha: Coven of Chaos, which in turn replaced the original Agatha: House of Harkness.

Agatha isn’t the only Marvel TV series that’s being pushed back at Disney+: Echo, the Hawkeye spinoff which was slated to premiere Nov. 29, will now premiere in January. Plus, Daredevil: Born Again (originally scheduled for spring 2024), Ironheart (fall) and Wonder Man have all been removed from the streamer’s release schedule for now, with new premiere dates TBD.
In addition, the animated series X-Men ’97 has been moved back from this fall to early 2024, though a Season 2 is still reportedly in the works. That leaves just two Marvel series premiering on Disney+ later this year: Loki Season 2, which will keep its Oct. 6 premiere date; and Season 2 of the animated anthology What If…?, which will debut around Christmas Day after initially announcing an early 2023 release.
Agatha: Darkhold Diaries will see Hahn joined in the cast by Aubrey Plaza (The White Lotus), Sasheer Zamata (SNL), Joe Locke (Heartstopper), Patti LuPone (American Horror Story) and Emma Caulfield Ford and Debra Jo Rupp, with those two reprising their WandaVision roles. Plot details have been scarce so far, but Hahn has hinted that Agatha may feature “a little song here or there.”
