Warner Bros. Discovery Reportedly Canceled 'Wonder Twins' Film Due to Its $75 Million USD Budget

Earlier this month, Warner Bros. Discovery announced that the live-action adaptation of Wonder Twins has been scrapped. The news comes just a month after KJ Apa and Isabel May were announced to play the lead roles in the DC Comics film.

Now, Variety has learned that Warner Bros. Discovery's David Zaslav canceled the Wonder Twins project because of its $75 million USD budget. The news also come after the company announced that it was considering a full overhaul of DC Entertainment.

The project was first reported to be in the works in February this year and was expected to be led by Black Adam's Adam Sztykiel. Wonder Twins has long been a beloved story in the DC universe and follows a pair of alien siblings named Jayna and Zan from the planet of Exxor. The film was supposed to release on HBO Max, but plans have now been officially canceled.

Elsewhere in entertainment, Adult Swim has announced a new Rick and Morty anime.
