Here’s how to watch the 2020 Primetime Emmy Awards on Sunday

Tonight is the night: The 72nd Primetime Emmy Awards will air Sunday to honor excellence in the television industry, and there are several ways to watch.

Jimmy Kimmel is slated to host, but the coronavirus pandemic won’t be far from thought: The broadcast will feature a mix of live and virtual segments and presenters will hand out awards in hazmat tuxedos, Variety reported.

Netflix leads the way for the most nominations at 160, breaking the record for most nominations in a single year previously set by HBO with 137, according to The Hollywood Reporter

HBO’s “Watchmen” nabbed the most nominations at 26 followed by Amazon’s “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” with 20, per The Hollywood Reporter. You can view the full nominations here.

Twenty-three awards will be handed out during Sunday’s broadcast and presenters will include Oprah Winfrey, Issa Rae, Jason Bateman, Lin-Manuel Miranda and Mindy Kaling, according to Deadline Hollywood.

Grammy-winning vocalist H.E.R. will perform during the ceremony’s in-memoriam segment, Deadline reported.

Several awards including Outstanding Animated Program and Outstanding Host for a Reality or Competition Program were handed out Saturday night at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards. You can view the list of winners here.

When are the Emmys?

The 2020 Primetime Emmy Awards will air Sunday on ABC at 8 p.m. ET and 5 p.m. PT.

While there will be no in-person red carpet, ABC will be an airing a 90-minute “virtual red carpet” before the show, the Los Angeles Times reported.

E! will also air its “E! Countdown to the Red Carpet” at 4:30 p.m. ET and 1:30 p.m. PT followed by “Live from E!” at 6 p.m. ET and 3 p.m. PT, according to The Los Angeles Times.

Can I watch the Emmys over the air or on cable?

Yes. Anyone with access to ABC through an antenna or their cable or satellite subscriptions will be able to watch the show. The ceremony will also stream on ABC.com, but will require authentication for viewing.
