Air Guitar enthusiasts shine at championships semi-finals in Finland

World-class performers competed on stage for a spot in Friday's final.

Since 1996, the World Air Guitar Championships have captivated audiences with their energetic and creative showcases.

Running from 21 to 23 August this year, organisers tout the event as a platform to champion global peace with the slogan "Make Air Not War."

Air guitar is based on mimicking guitar playing, with heavy metal and rock the most common music genres used.
