Watch: Escaped horses run loose through strip mall parking lot

Nov. 15 (UPI) -- Sheriff's deputies in Tacoma, Wash., were summoned to handle a situation outside the purview of their usual duties when a pair of horses were found running loose through the city's streets.

The Pierce County Sheriff's Department said deputies stationed in Tacoma responded after the horses were spotted running loose at 10:46 p.m. Tuesday.

The sheriff's office shared body camera footage showing the horses trotting through a strip mall parking lot.

"Thankfully the owners arrived on scene. Our job at that point was just to make sure other vehicles didn't hit the animals as the owners corralled the animals," the post said. "Even though we needed some help, your deputies still cleared the call with two in custody. Good job, ya'll!"
