Watch Georgia singer blow ‘The Voice’ coaches away with Harry Styles cover

A Georgia singer snagged a spot in the next round of “The Voice” after wowing the coaches with her audition song, which earned her a four-chair turn.

“I was blown away,” rookie coach and One Direction alum Niall Horan said of Cait Martin’s blind audition Monday, March 20.

Coaches Blake Shelton, Kelly Clarkson and Chance The Rapper were just as moved by Martin’s rendition of Harry Styles’ “As It Was.” Each turned their chairs to see the Atlanta songstress as she belted out the high notes of the 2022 hit.

“The minute I heard the riff on the piano, I knew you were obviously gonna do something different to the song,” Horan said. “You just kept so much control in the highest parts and had so many dynamic and beautiful moments in the song.”

“I knew you were gonna go big and powerful, but I didn’t know how big your range was …” said Clarkson, who was the first to turn her chair. “I literally believed in you like light years before these guys turned around. I don’t know what took them so long.”

Chance agreed, and said the tone and texture of Martin’s voice was reminiscent of Whitney Houston’s.

Each pleaded their case in hopes that she would make them her coach. When it came time to choose, Martin took her talents to Team Kelly.

“The Voice” airs at 8 p.m. local time Monday and 9 p.m. Tuesdays on NBC.
