Watch Katy Perry and Her Mom 'Spank' Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie on the Pickleball Court (Exclusive)
Perry invited her fellow judges to a match during her 'American Idol' hometown tour in Santa Barbara, California
Katy Perry knows how to bring the heat on the pickleball court.
In a clip from Perry's American Idol hometown tours, premiering exclusively with PEOPLE, the "California Gurls" singer challenged her fellow judges Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan to a pickleball match.
"We're about to settle this once and for all," Perry, 39, says in the opening of the clip as Richie and Bryan walk onto a pickleball court. "Whose hometown is the best hometown? Mine."
Then, Perry hands Richie, 74, and Bryan, 47, paddles with her face on them and called her mom, Mary Hudson, to the court.
During the game, Perry and her mom schooled their opponents and they grew more and more frustrated.

"Lionel, I thought you and Kenny Rogers used to play," Bryan said as Richie added, "I play all the time."
Perry added, "My mom is 75 and she is smacking your butts."
After a few more hits, Perry called the game.
"I think it's obvious who took the game. Bring in the trophy," she said. "Alright guys, well, I think we should go and find some real talent since that spanking was quite embarrassing. Let's go to auditions."
Last month, PEOPLE caught up with Perry after her hometown trip and she said Richie and Bryan fit right in.
"The best part of bringing Idol to Santa Barbara was being able to share my roots," Perry said at the time. "From busking at farmers markets for avocados and mangos on the guitar our family friend Patricia Bragg gifted me, to seeing my opera teacher — the sweetest surprise — when we did auditions at Music Academy of the West."
Perhaps the most special part of her trip was showing her fellow judges "how those times made me the person I am today."
On the pickleball match, Perry — who recently announced that this would be her last season on the show — said her mom "loves" hanging with her fellow judges.
"It’s so funny because my mom’s been trying to get the family to play pickleball with her for years, and we always resisted, but we gave in a few years ago, and now it’s our Sunday afternoon family activity. I even did a charity pickleball tournament — which Mom competed in, of course — for my foundation, Firework Foundation."
American Idol airs Sundays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
