Considering how depressed Luke Skywalker looks in the trailers for Star Wars:The Last Jedi, it’s nice to see Mark Hamill having some fun. This gag reel from the comedy Brigsby Bear features Hamill’s outtakes as “Sunsnatcher,” the nefarious solar villain from the children’s TV show of the film’s title. The Star Wars star’s experience as a voice actor (he plays the Joker in the Batman animated universe) really shines through, so to speak, in his evil delivery of lines like “Calm down, bro!” and “A bunch of us are ordering Thai food!” Also featured in the spoiler-free gag reel is the film’s star and co-writer, SNL’s Kyle Mooney. Watch it above.
Released this summer by Sony Pictures Classics, Brigsby Bear tells the weird yet heartwarming story of James (Mooney), who is obsessed with a low-budget children’s show that — for reasons we won’t spoil here — no one else has ever seen. In order to adjust to tumultuous changes at home, James must figure out how to incorporate his hero, the fictional bear Brigsby, into his real life.
Brigsby Bear is available on Blu-Ray, DVD, and Digital HD on Tuesday.
