It’s been called the goal that broke the Internet, one that you need to see before the Internet really does break and it’s lost forever.

Miguel Gonzalez scored the only goal of the game to lead OKC Energy FC of the United Soccer League to victory over Sacramento Republic FC on Tuesday night. The USL is an independent second tier competition that functions as a minor league for many franchises in Major League Soccer.

“So the first guy (OKC’s Michael Harris), rather than inbound the ball with a traditional throw-in with feet on the ground, does a 360-degree front flip and launches the ball 40 yards into the Sacramento penalty area.

“Then, a Sacramento defender heads the ball 40 feet in the air, it drops out of the sky and this little guy executes the most perfect bicycle kick you’ll ever see in the lower left-hand corner of the net, leaving the goalkeeper, opposing team and anyone with their eyes open in amazement.”

The game-winning goal has been viewed millions of time in the past two days, leading to calls for the goal to be nominated for the FIFA Puskás Award, given to the player judged to have scored the best, or most beautiful goal of the year.
