The opening quarter-plus of Sunday night’s New England Patriots-Atlanta Falcons Super Bowl LI rematch (in case you weren’t sure why this game has been so hyped) has been a flag-fest, which isn’t fun to watch.

But with 12:30 to go in the second quarter, it suddenly did become fun: Tom Brady’s touch “pass” to Brandin Cooks on second down from the Atlanta 11 saw Cooks ride the back of bulldozing Rob Gronkowski into the end zone for his third touchdown as a member of the Patriots.

Brady’s thrown some deep passes before, especially when Randy Moss was in New England, but that might be the shortest touchdown pass he’s ever “thrown.”

We doubt he’ll complain.
