Water main break floods Sherbourne from King to Adelaide in the wee hours

A water main break along Sherbourne Street, between King and Adelaide streets, flooded the normally busy intersections around 3 a.m.

Vehicles spewed plumes of water as they navigated the sodden streets, the flooding climbing more than halfway up their wheels. The torrent flowed down Sherbourne, flooding sections of King Street overnight as well.

The city closed Sherbourne to traffic in order to fix the break overnight. The street reopened before 8:15 a.m.
