This waterfront Florida Keys spot was just named the best family resort in the U.S.
The best resort in the country for families is in the Florida Keys.
Hawks Cay Resort, located in the middle Florida Keys at mile marker 61, was chosen as the best family resort in the United States by USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards.
The resort, which also earned the prestigious AAA Four Diamond Award, is a 60-acre property with a saltwater lagoon fed by the ocean. There are four swimming pools, including a Pirate Ship Pool for kids, where they can meet colorful pirate characters, and a Tranquility Pool for adults only, where quiet beverages for two are more popular.
There’s also an activities center for kids and an onsite dolphin encounter attraction. Other family activities include fishing charters, snorkeling, kayaking, paddle boarding and private boat charters.

The other Florida resorts to make the top 10 list were Four Seasons Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort at No. 5 and Club Med Sandpiper Bay in Port St. Lucie at No. 10.
USA Today’s 10Best nominees are chosen by travel experts and USA Today’s 10Best editors. Readers’ votes determine the top 10 winners.
Also named to the 10Best list for 2020 was Acqualina Resort & Residences, which was voted best resort and best waterfront hotel, with its Acqualina Spa by ESPA voted best spa in the country.
