Waves Crash on Long Island Beach as Hurricane Fiona Heads North
The National Hurricane Center (NHC) warned of dangerous storm surges and life-threatening rip currents on the eastern US coastline as Hurricane Fiona moved north over the Atlantic on September 23.
Fiona hit Bermuda as a Category 3 hurricane before restrengthening to a Category 4, the NHC said on Friday.
Coastal communities along the eastern seaboard were warned of “life-threatening surf and rip current conditions” over “the next couple of days.”
Douglas Kelley said he filmed this footage of loud waves crashing on Smith Point Beach in Shirley, a town in Long Island, New York, on Friday.
