Welcoming bikes wins award for brewery

·1 min read

The Second Wedge Brewing Co. recently added another accolade to its collection, having recently been named the winner of the York Durham Headwaters area Best Bicycle Friendly Business Award. Thirteen Ontario businesses were awarded this prize for their efforts to go above and beyond, offering extra services and amenities to cyclists who visit their locations.

The awards were presented by Ontario By Bike, an organization which “helps ensure cyclists are welcomed at businesses they choose to stop at, whether it be as a cycle tourist, on a longer trip, or while biking closer to home.”

“We’ve been lucky to be so warmly embraced by the Uxbridge cycling community these last five years,” says Joanne Richter, co-owner of The Second Wedge, “and it’s been very rewarding to put out the welcome mat for cyclists visiting from other regions as well. We look forward to lots of bikes parked outside our tasting room and beer garden again soon.”

Until then, beer lovers can order online at thesecondwedge.ca, and receive Uxbridge home delivery. Or, hop on a bike and ride over to pick your order up!
