The prairies are coming to West Lincoln.

On Monday Aug. 8 from 5 to 10 p.m. at the West Lincoln Community Centre, the Township is holding a free Saskatchewan-themed party ahead of the Niagara 2022 Canada Summer Games.

Food will be provided by the Country Boy food truck, and John Deere will be bringing tractors and other equipment.

Guests will also have the chance to view sculptures from Against the Grain Outdoors chainsaw carvers.

Musical entertainment will be provided by the band Moonlight Co.

Saskatchewan’s floral emblem, the Western Red Lily, will be displayed thanks to the Garden Club.

The Township has partnered up with Saskatchewan as part of the 13 for 13 Festival to showcase the prairie province.

The festival, which is part of the Niagara 2022 Canada Summer Games, is designed to promote the cultures of each province and territory throughout each municipality in Niagara.

Lincoln will be hosting Newfoundland on Sunday Aug. 7, and Grimsby will be bringing Prince Edward Island to Niagara on Saturday Aug. 20.

Each municipality in the region will be hosting a similar event. The Games themselves kick off with the opening ceremonies on Saturday at the Meridian Centre in St. Catharines. They wrap up Aug. 21 with closing ceremonies in Niagara Falls.
