What's open and closed on Remembrance Day in Manitoba

Remembrance Day is not a holiday under Manitoba labour legislation, but many people will have the day off. All civic offices, schools, and most businesses are closed on Nov. 11.

Recycling and garbage collection on Wednesday moves to Thursday, Nov. 12, while Thursday and Friday collection moves to the following days, Friday and Saturday. For more information contact the City of Winnipeg by email 311@winnipeg.ca or phone 311.

- Grocery stores: most open, some open at 1 p.m.

- Canadian Blood Services: open 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

- Credit union and banks: closed.

- Shopping malls: open 1 p.m. to 9 p.m.

- Winnipeg Transit: operating on a Sunday schedule; transit buses will pull over for a moment of silence at 11 a.m.

- Winnipeg Public Libraries: closed.

- Public leisure and recreation centres, including swimming pools: closed, with the exception of the Pan Am Pool and the Cindy Klassen Recreation Complex.

- Pan Am Pool: open 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

- Cindy Klassen Recreation Complex: open 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

- Winnipeg Parking Authority: closed.

- Assiniboine Park Zoo and Conservatory: open 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

- Winnipeg Art Gallery: open 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

- Canadian Museum for Human Rights: open 1 p.m. to 9 p.m.
