The Wheel of Fortune family is coming together to show their support for Vanna White after she opened up about a personal loss she experienced off camera.

On April 1, the longtime Wheel of Fortune cohost announced on social media that her father, Herbert White Jr., had died at the age of 96. In a heartfelt post shared on Twitter and Instagram, Vanna paid tribute to him with a photo of them together and a candid caption.

“It is with great sadness that I tell you my 96 year old dad passed away peacefully this morning,” she wrote. “He lived a full and happy life and will be remembered as one of the kindest and most wonderful human beings of North Myrtle Beach. I love you so much dad. RIP #love #bestdadever.”

Shortly after, the official Wheel of Fortune Twitter account retweeted Vanna’s message and let her know that she was in everyone’s thoughts. “.@TheVannaWhite, we are thinking of you and your family during this difficult time. We love you. ❤️ - Your Wheel of Fortune family,” it read.

After hearing about Vanna’s personal news, Wheel of Fortune fans didn’t hesitate to reach out to her on social media. “Sending my deepest condolences and prayers for you and your family. May your memories keep him close in your hearts. 🕊❤️🙏🏼,” one person wrote on Twitter. “What a beautiful photo! The love between you radiates, and I know your dad will be a part of you forever. Among those sending the game show star their best was fellow cohost Pat Sajak’s daughter, Maggie Sajak. “I am so very sorry for your loss. My whole family is thinking of you 🤍🕊,” she commented.

According to Daily Mail, Vanna was raised by Herbert after her mother, Joan, and her biological father, Miguel Angel Rosich, went their separate ways when she was an infant. Vanna took Herbert’s last name before she landed her iconic TV gig in 1982, according to Grand Strand magazine. The outlet also reported that Herbert was a real estate agent in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Per Vanna's IMDB, he was a "successful real estate broker/owner of White's Realty."

Apart from giving her dad a shoutout online during special occasions like Father’s Day, Vanna also spoke fondly of him on Wheel of Fortune. Last summer, Pat asked Vanna how Herbert was doing to which she replied, “He's great ... I call him every morning to say, 'Good morning' and that I love him. He's special.”
