'I have the right to say this is where I belong'

Bumi Thomas, a jazz artist who thought she was a UK citizen, is now facing deportation.

She was born in Glasgow, in 1983, six months after a law came into effect which changed the automatic citizenship for children born in the UK to parents from the Commonwealth.

Ms Thomas says her parents were unaware they had to fill in a naturalisation form and thought she was a citizen like her older sister who was born before the law was passed.

She is now facing deportation after 10-year battle with the Home Office. She has appealed the decision and the court hearing is in October.
