Where to vote in the municipal election

·3 min read

With municipal election campaigns well underway, voters are being asked to formulate some favourite candidates.

Most municipalities will have a forum for residents to hear what candidates in their municipality have to say.

Advance polls will be opening this week.

Beaverlodge:

The Beaverlodge Chamber of Commerce hosted a forum on Wednesday. Coverage of the event will be in next week's Town & Country News.

Advance polls in Beaverlodge will be open on Oct. 9 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Oct. 13 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the community centre.

On Oct. 18, voters can head to the community centre from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Amisk Court residents will be able to vote at Amisk Court from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

County of Grande Prairie:

The Grande Prairie & District Chamber of Commerce cancelled its online forum due to technical difficulties; in lieu, they will be recording candidates from Divisions 2, 4, 5, 8, and 9 to introduce themselves and answer pre-submitted questions. The video will be available on the county website at XXXXXX.

Advance voting for all divisions will take place on Oct. 13 and Oct. 16 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Evergreen Park, Sexsmith Civic Centre, and the Hythe Legion.

County residents living in acclaimed divisions (1, 3, 6, 7) can still vote in the senate election, provincial referendum, and school board trustee elections.
