Wiggles lead singer collapses on-stage during concert for Australia relief

The lead singer of the Australian children's group "The Wiggles" suddenly collapsed while performing at a charity concert on Friday.

The popular band was about to perform their final song "Hot Potato" at a sold-out reunion concert to raise money for the Australian bushfires when lead singer Greg Page collapsed. The concert was stopped as EMS workers rushed to perform CPR on Page, 48, who is now in stable condition at Westmead Hospital.

Page had been with the band since 1991 and retired in 2006 after being diagnosed with orthostatic intolerance, which prevents him from standing up for long periods of time. Because his body does not pump enough blood, he is prone to fainting spells because of the lack of blood. The condition forced him to miss nearly all of the group's 2006 tour in the United States.

In his retirement video, Page said that although he loves the group, his health takes precedence.

"I’ll miss being a part of The Wiggles very much, but this is the right decision because it will allow me to focus on managing my health," the singer said. He briefly rejoined the group from 2012 to 2013.
