Wildfire discovered northwest of Fort St. John listed as ‘under control’

A wildfire northwest of Fort St. John has been listed as “under control”, according to the BC Wildfire Service (BCWS).

The fire is 0.2 hectares in size and was discovered in the Orange Creek area at around 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 24th.

A fire listed as “under control” has responded to suppression efforts and is not expected to spread further.

Crews have repelled the fire so that it will not spread, says BCWS Fire Information Officer Sharon Nickel.

The suspected cause is human activity.
