Windsor Civic Holiday 2015: What's open, what's closed

What's open and what is closed in Windsor this holiday Monday? We've got the low-down for you.

City services

The City of Windsor's offices will not be open on Monday. The same for 311, which you'll have to wait until Tuesday if you want to call it.

The holiday will also shift the next council meeting to Tuesday.

Residential garbage, yard waste and recycling pickup also won't be occurring on Monday. Instead, it will be delayed by a day. Ditto for collection for the rest of the week.

The local libraries will also be closed on Monday. They'll reopen on Tuesday.

Transit Windsor buses will be operating on a Sunday/holiday schedule. The Tunnel Bus, however, will be on a weekday schedule.

Adventure Bay will be open for its regular hours from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m. The Windsor International Aquatic and Training Centre will also operate during its regular hours.

The city's outdoor pools will be open from 1:30 p.m. until 5 p.m. on Monday.

Beer and booze

The city's five LCBO stores will be open on Monday, though on reduced hours.

The University Avenue, Ambassador Plaza, Walker Road and Tecumseh Road East locations will be open from noon until 5 p.m. The Roundhouse Centre store on Howard Avenue will be open a bit longer, from noon until 8 p.m.

The Beer Store's website indicates that five stores in the city will be open on Aug. 3, from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. Follow this link to view the list.

Shopping malls, big box and grocery stores

The Devonshire Mall will be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. That's slightly less than their usual operating hours on a Monday.

The website for the Windsor Crossing Outlet Mall says the mall will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Both of the Walmart Supercentre stores in the city will be open on reduced hours. A staff member who answered the phone at Dougall Avenue said that store will be open from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m., while a staff member at the Tecumseh Road East location said it will be open from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.

The city's Home Depot stores will be open on regular hours, according to staff who answered phone inquiries on Friday.

The Real Canadian Superstores will both be open from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. The Zehrs Markets website indicates its Windsor stores are open, with varying hours.

The M.R. Meat Markets on Tecumseh Road East and West are open from 9 a.m. until 7 p.m.

All FreshCo stores are open, but the hours vary. A company spokesperson advises shoppers to check its website to find the posted hours. Sobeys is open for its regular hours.

All Metro grocery stores in Windsor will be open as per their regular hours, according to a spokesperson for the company.

Banks and credit unions

All WFCU locations will be closed on both Sunday and Monday, according to its website.

Media relations staff at BMO, CIBC, RBC, Scotiabank and TD banks confirmed all of their branches in Windsor will be closed Monday.
