Windsor police become impromptu firefighters after responding to family dispute

Two men have been charged with breaking into a home three times near downtown Windsor, where they stole a car, a bicycle and several other items.

The first burglary occurred May 17 when police discovered a vehicle along with several other items were stolen from the Ouellette Avenue home, located near Ellis Street.

Police investigated a second break and enter at the home two days later when thieves had made off with a bicycle. Later that same day, police were called for a third burglary at the home.

Officers found two men in the home around 8 p.m. The men had several stolen items and opioid pain medication. The vehicle that was stolen from the first break and enter was parked nearby still running, according to police.

Police then went to a hotel room, where the men had recently been staying and discovered other stolen property from the home, including the bicycle.

A 23-year-old Windsor man is charged with three counts of break and enter, two counts of possession of stolen property, theft of a motor vehicle and possession of a controlled substance.

A 26-year-old man, also from Windsor, is charged with break and enter.
