Windsor Police determine child abduction did not occur

Windsor Police have determined an abduction did not take place at the 5400 block of Lassaline Avenue Sunday afternoon.

Police arrived at 1:15 p.m. after three girls, aged six to seven, reported a possible abduction outside Pykes Park.

It was alleged that a white male driving a large white vehicle stopped outside the park, grabbed a seven-year-old girl and drove away with her.

"All of a sudden, I saw them waving at me," said Abdulah Almuhana, the father of one of the witnesses. "They told me they saw a guy who grabbed a little girl, a seven-year-old girl, and just drove away to the west."

Shortly after 6 p.m. Sunday, police concluded there was not an abduction, and called the reports "unfounded."

Police say the three witnesses gave slightly different accounts of the incident.

Police did not receive a missing child report.
