Windsor Police say they've arrested a 21-year-old man and seized a gun and more than $12,000 worth of drugs following an investigation earlier this week.

Windsor police say they located a man they suspected of trafficking drugs in a Semiole Street parking lot on Wednesday. Emergency Services Unit officers arrived, and Windsor police say a suspect rammed a police car with his own vehicle in an attempt to flee before being arrested.

At the time, Windsor police said an officer sustained an injury to his arm and was taken to hospital. He has been treated and released.

Police say they found drugs, money and a gun during the arrest. The 21-year-old man was charged with five drug trafficking offences, six firearms-related offences, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and failure to stop for police.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Windsor Police Service or Crime Stoppers to remain anonymous.
