Windsor taxi crashes into Tim Hortons drive thru

A Windsor taxi driver was transported to hospital after a cab crashed into a Tim Hortons drive thru Sunday afternoon.

Vince Allen had just parked his car at the Ottawa Street and Kildare Road establishmet when the incident happened.

"All I heard was a thud," said Allen. "I looked over and the sign is down, taxi cab is there."

Allen said he ran over and pulled the driver out of the cab.

"He was disorientated," said Allen. "I don't know if he's been driving too many hours, but something was up."

Allen said some Tim Hortons employees came out with a chair, and they sat the driver on it until paramedics arrived.

There is no word on what caused the crash or if the driver was suffering from a medical condition.
