Winning Whitehorse lottery ticket still unclaimed

There's still a winning lottery ticket in a pocket, purse or drawer somewhere in Yukon.

The Western Canada Lottery Corporation confirmed that the winner will have until next May to collect their prize.

Spokesperson Andrea Marantz is recommending Yukoners check any tickets they might have for the May 18 Lotto Max draw.

“We're still hoping who knows somebody might have gone on vacation and left their ticket at home there could be all sorts of reasons it hasn't been claimed yet. It will be completely valid for an entire year but if it is the next day you'll just have a piece of paper not a winning ticket anymore,” said Marantz.

The unclaimed ticket is worth $188,805.90.
