Winnipeg police seize cocaine, weapons in raids

Five people are facing drugs and weapons charges after Winnipeg police raided two homes Saturday night.

After a months-long investigation spanning multiple units, police executed search warrants at an apartment in the 400 block of Edison Avenue and another in the 500 block of Bannerman Avenue.

Officers seized $30,000 cash and about 70 grams of cocaine from the Edison Avenue bust, while the raid on Bannerman Avenue turned up brass knuckles, bear spray, $2000 and a small amount of marijuana.

Five people in their 20s are now facing drug and weapons related charges.
