Winnipeg snow route parking ban starts Dec. 1

Winnipeg snow route parking ban starts Dec. 1

It's that time of year again. As of 2 a.m. Dec. 1, you won't be able to park on certain streets around Winnipeg without potentially getting a ticket or a tow.

The city's seasonal parking ban is now in effect between the hours of 2 a.m. and 7 a.m., from Dec. 1 to March 1, 2016.

The City of Winnipeg says the ban is to ensure priority streets are kept clear of snow so that emergency vehicles can get where they need to go quickly and safely.

Vehicles parked in a snow route will receive a $50 ticket, and that increases to $100 if not paid early.

If your vehicle is towed, you have to pay even more to get it back.
