After a week of frigid temperatures, Winnipeg is looking a little warmer for the weekend.

On Saturday, Environment Canada is expecting a high of –9 C, with a mainly cloudy sky. In the morning, the city will still feel quite cold, though. This windchill factor at the airport hit –29, meaning exposed skin could freeze in as little as 10 minutes.

By Saturday night, expect a 30% chance of light snow, with winds gusting 20 km/h and a low of –17 C.

On Sunday, Winnipeggers can expect light snow to clear by noon and a high of –10 C.

As for the rest of the week, Winnipeg is expected to continue on its path to milder temperatures, and according to Environment Canada, the city could reach a high as warm at –4 C by Friday.
