Winnipeggers march to remember, support victims of violence

A group of Winnipeggers came together Saturday for a march to remember victims of violence.

The walk, hosted by the Manitoba Organization of Victim Assistance (MOVA), started at The Forks and ended at the Manitoba Legislature in the afternoon.

Organizers said the event was meant to support family and friends of homicide victims.

"There are survivors of homicide: that is, the family and the loved ones of somebody who's life was taken," said Karen Wiebe, MOVA board chair. "We support each other and we hope other people will support us as well."

The group has been organizing the march for the last four years.
