Winter weather alert issued for Chatham-Kent and Windsor-Essex

1 person sent to hospital after 7-car pileup outside Fredericton

Environment Canada has issued a weather alert for the region as a blast of winter weather is expected to bring strong winds and 10 to 15 cm of snow by Tuesday night.

Snow began falling early Monday morning and will pick up in the afternoon and evening.

The government weather authority warns some blowing snow is possible with wind gusts up to 50 km/h.
