Accidents happen, but attending the wrong wedding usually isn't one of them.

Amina Hassan explained her mishap on social media, recounting the error that led her to show up at the wrong venue. But it wasn't until 15 minutes into the wedding that she realized she shouldn't be there.

"We attended the wrong wedding," Hassan said with a laugh in a video posted on Instagram and TikTok. "I came to some random wedding. Trust me to do that, that is hilarious."

Hassan explained that her friend was getting married on the same day at Meridian Way, which she confused for Meridian Grand. As for the bride's name being different, she just assumed she was being "catfished" by her friend, whom she met online.

"I was thinking, my name ain't here," Hassan said outside the venue while shaking her head. "But then they were like, 'Are you the bride's friend?' I was like, 'Yeah,' and they were like, 'You're at table number two.' "

"Guys, I really thought my online friend lied to me about her name. And then she looked different," she continued. "I thought the bride looked so different to my friend, but then I thought my friend just catfished me but then I FaceTimed her before and was thinking maybe the makeup made her look different."

To make matters worse, Hassan had to go back into the building after leaving to retrieve her bag, which she had forgotten inside.

Not long after the "embarrassing" moment, Hassan's actual friend FaceTimed her, asking where she was. "I'm at the wrong wedding!" Hassan told the bride while on her way to the originally intended destination. Luckily, her friend wasn't a catfish.

The next morning, the bride from the Meridian Grand DM'd Hassan, screenshots of which she shared on TikTok. She wrote, "Hey. You attended my wedding at Meridian Grand. I just wanted to find out who invited you?"

To which Hassan responded by apologizing profusely and explaining how the wedding mix-up happened.

"I'm honestly really sorry," Hassan messaged the bride in part. "It was all a huge misunderstanding but the second I realized I left."

The bride appeared to accept her apology, saying she was just "confused" when family members told her she was at the wedding uninvited.

Hassan, who noted that she didn't have anything to eat or drink at the wrong wedding, told her followers: "Moral of the story, recheck the address of the wedding before you leave your house and put in the full address so you don't end up like me and you don't attend the wrong wedding because that was very stupid of me guys, and it was just hilarious."
