Woman charged with murder after dead body found in Aiken County, sheriff says
An Aiken woman was arrested Monday afternoon after a man was found dead early Monday morning, according to a news release from the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office.
Donna Boatwright, 41, was charged with murder and possession of a deadly weapon during a violent crime, the sheriff’s office said.
Boatwright was taken into custody by Saluda County Sheriff’s Office during a traffic stop, according to the release.
The victim was identified as Billy J. Reedy, Jr., 46, also of Aiken, according to a news release from the Aiken County Coroner’s Office. He died of at least one gunshot to the body, it said.
Reedy’s body was found near Vaucluse Road and Senn Street, the coroner’s office said.
The autopsy is scheduled for Thursday in Newberry.
