Woman killed in Norpoint Way wreck in Tacoma has been identified, medical examiner says

Detectives with the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office discovered the body of Robert Erwin, a transient man who had been reported missing from the Yelm area, buried in a shallow grave near the Nisqually River on June 4.

A Federal Way woman who died from a crash in Tacoma last week has been identified, according to the Pierce County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Kristen Heber, 22, died from multiple blunt-force injuries on Friday at Norpoint Way Northeast. Her manner of death was ruled as an accident, the office wrote in a news release.

The wreck closed part of Norpoint Way Northeast. Tacoma Fire personnel initially pronounced Heber dead at the scene, but a doctor requested they transport her to a hospital, The News Tribune reported.

She was resuscitated at the hospital but later died. One of Heber’s family members informed The News Tribune of her death and said her organs are being donated to five different people. The family also notified a police detective of Heber’s death.

As of Wednesday, the crash was being investigated, police spokesperson officer Shelbie Boyd told The News Tribune.
