Woman Screaming Turns Out To Be Man Trying To Get Rid Of Spider

Police who responded to concerned calls about a woman screaming and the sound of furniture being thrown did not find the scene they were expecting.

Officers rushed to an address in Wollstonecraft, New South Wales, after receiving numerous reports of a “violent domestic” taking place.

Concerned residents said that they heard a woman screaming and a man yelling that he was going to “kill” her.

Police rushed to the home but when they arrived, they soon found out that the incident was, thankfully, not as serious as they had feared.

The man who answered was out of breath and fairly confused at the line of questioning - a transcript of the conversation posted on the NSW Police Force Facebook page tells the full story:

Police: “Where’s your wife?”
Male: “Umm I don’t have one.”
Police: “Where’s your girlfriend?”
Male: “Umm I don’t have one.”
Police: “We had a report of a domestic and a women screaming, where is she?”
Male: “I don’t know what you’re talking about, I live alone.”
Police: “Come on mate people clearly heard you yelling you were going to kill her and furniture getting thrown around the unit. Come on mate, what have you done to her?”
Male: “It was a spider”
Police “Sorry?”
Male: “It was a spider, a really big one!”
Police: “What about the woman screaming?”
Male: “Yeah sorry that was me, I really really hate spiders.”

The man had been chasing the spider around with a can and after police checked the scene to make sure he was telling the truth, they all saw the funny side.

It must have been one seriously big spider.
