A 29-year-old woman was seriously injured in a Clay County crash Saturday when another driver failed to stop, according to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Sometime before 5:45 a.m., Brandy Butler of St. Joseph was traveling north along U.S. Highway 69. Authorities say 27-year-old Michael Griffin of Lawson then sped through a red light.

Griffin’s vehicle struck the driver’s side of Butler’s, the report indicates.

Griffin sustained moderate injuries in the crash. Both Butler and Griffin were transported to area hospitals for treatment.
