Woman stabs shop worker 27 times for telling her to put on a mask

Chicago police report that a woman stabbed a store employee 27 times while another held him down after he asked them to wear face masks while shopping.

The attack happened at 6pm on Sunday at an unnamed store in the West Side of Chicago, according to The Chicago Sun-Times.

The two women were requested to wear masks and use hand sanitiser when an altercation began, eventually becoming physical when one of the women punched the worker in the chest.

It was then that 21-year-old Jessica Hill pulled a knife out and stabbed the man, while 18-year-old Jayla Hill held him down by his hair, police said.

The 32-year-old man suffered stab wounds to his chest, back and arms.

Police arrested both women at the scene and they each face a count of attempted murder.

The victim was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital where is a listed as being in critical condition.

His attacker were taken to a separate hospital and treated for minor lacerations.
