Woman dies in two-vehicle Manotick crash

A 36-year-old woman died in hospital Friday after a two-vehicle crash in Manotick on Friday morning.

Ottawa police said a car and dump truck collided around 10:30 a.m. Friday on Limebank Road near Mitch Owens Drive.

Firefighters had to extricate the woman from her car and paramedics took over care immediately after, rushing her to The Ottawa Hospital's Civic campus trauma unit.

A 20-year-old man was also taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Police closed area roads for several hours before reopening them on Friday afternoon.

The investigation continues. Alcohol and speed are not considered factors in the crash, police said.
