Year in Review 2016: Biggest #RioProblems

Long before the start of the 2016 Olympics in Rio, the Summer Games were plagued by several alarming issues. The waters were heavily polluted, the preparations were dragging along, and ticket sales for the events were poor. The most popular sporting event in the entire world was set to descend on a city that appeared to be ill-prepared to host the Olympic Games.

And with that, the hashtag #RioProblems was born, quickly becoming one of the most popular trending topics during the Games. As part of Yahoo Canada’s Year in Review series, we’ve complied a list of the top Rio Problems from the 2016 Summer Games.
