Yellowknife hires new senior administrator

The City of Yellowknife has hired a new senior administrative officer.

Dennis Kefalas has been the acting SAO since November, when former SAO Bob Long was ousted at city council's first meeting following the municipal election.

At the time, Mayor Mark Heyck said the new council was looking for a change. Council members had criticized Long.

In the past Kefalas has worked as the director of the city’s Public Works and Engineering department.

Heyck says Kefalas brings a lot of experience to his new role.

Kefalas will be officially appointed as SAO by council on Monday.
