Missing Yellowknife girl Saidee Gosselin, 14, says she's safe

Missing Yellowknife teen Saidee Gosselin says she's safe and is in Edmonton.

Yellowknife RCMP requested assistance from the community earlier Tuesday in locating Gosselin, 14.

Gosselin contacted CBC News this afternoon. Gosselin's mother says her daughter also contacted her to say she was safe but that she is still concerned.

RCMP say they have not confirmed the girl's safety and the investigation is ongoing.

According to an RCMP news release, she was last seen Feb. 27 and was reported missing by her family on March 2.

Gosselin is described as 5 foot 2 and 110 pounds. She has curly shoulder-length black hair and is of Vietnamese and Caucasian descent. She sometimes uses a hair straightener and wears dark eye make-up.
