New York Officials Extend Early Voting Hours as Long Lines Persist

New York City’s Board of Elections (BOE) announced it would extend early voting hours from October 30 to November 1 as voters continued to face long lines to cast their ballots.

The change came after Mayor Bill deBlasio called on the board to “step up” and introduce immediate measures to alleviate long wait times. New Yorkers reported waiting in line for hours to cast ballots after early voting began on October 24.
