YouTube's King of Random Grant Thompson dies in paragliding accident aged 38

YouTube star Grant Thompson, aka The King Of Random, has died following a paragliding accident.

According to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, the 38-year-old influencer’s body was recovered early on Tuesday morning in St. George, Utah after his family filed a missing person’s report when he didn’t return from a parasailing trip on Monday night.

Thompson’s family said in a statement posted online: “It is with great sadness to inform everyone that Grant Thompson passed away last night. Grant had great love and appreciation for his fans. We invite you to share your thoughts for Grant and the channel in the comments.

“Please do a random act of love or kindness today in honour of The King of Random. Grant’s legacy will live on in the channel and the global community he created.”

Thompson’s brother Mark told TMZ.com that Grant went parasailing in Sand Hollow State Park on Monday and failed to return home.

Officials were able to quickly locate his body thanks to a GPS locator he had with him.

The King Of Random founded his YouTube channel in 2010 and has amassed over 11 million subscribers to his video experiments including, How to make gummy LEGO candy, How to open coconuts without any tools and Turning coal into diamonds using peanut butter.
