A young mother living in Moscow, Russia, decided to document what a typical day means for her after receiving complaints from friends that she does ‘nothing all day.’

Julia Skorobogatov, photojournalist, artist and mother to a teenager and a baby, takes viewers through parenthood using a selfie stick.

She says her mornings either start at 9 a.m. – or earlier – and feeding the baby girl is top priority.

“I still use the most natural products to feed Vasilisa. Best food you can get in Moscow,” she writes.

As she goes on with her day, Skorobogatov goes back to “unfinished morning business,” while the baby sleeps. Although she warns that “sleep sessions” are very short so she tries to get ready as fast as possible.

The two are side-by-side throughout the day as Skorobogatov completes the chores around the house. From cooking to cleaning, her daughter doesn’t leave her side.

On this particular day, she even takes time to help her older daughter “be more fashionable,” by helping to dye her hair.

Skorobogatov admits that her friends are right in some way when they say she does nothing all day but watch the baby.

“I don’t have to wake up early five days a week and rush to the other side of Moscow in a metro carriage packed like a box of sardines,” she writes.

But after going through her photo series, a day in the life of a mother seems equally as challenging as going into an office.
