Yukon Blonde performing at upcoming CBC Toque session

Canadian indie rock band Yukon Blonde will be headlining a CBC Toque Session on Saturday, playing alongside Vancouver bands Little India and Willa, formerly known as Ali Milner.

CBC's Toque Sessions are free concerts produced by CBC. The upcoming intimate studio concert on Mar. 7 is sold out but will be recorded for future broadcast.

On the Coast spoke with CBC Music Producer Jon Siddall about the concert and the three bands who will be performing.

"We informally refer to it as a Super Toque because we don't often stack up the bands this way," said Siddall.

Yukon Blonde, originally from Kelowna, B.C., will be releasing a new album this summer.

The band is still putting the final touches on the songs, but Siddall said they will be playing new songs at the upcoming Toque Session.

Yukon Blonde's last album, Tiger Talk, was released in 2012.
